在贺云翱看来，现存16座明清城墙构成的完整序列，展现了从都城到县城的金字塔结构，以及北方遵循儒家思想的规整布局和南方崇尚道家理念的自由形态的对比，成为东方文明的独特见证。
浙江省古建筑设计研究院院长、浙江省文物保护利用协会副会长卢远征则聚焦于“钱塘江海塘·潮文化景观”。这项工程始于唐代，清代成为国家工程，凝聚了中国人“向海而生”的智慧。其价值不仅在于浩大的工程本身，更在于它是自然力(涌潮)与人类智慧(海塘)共同塑造的文化景观。

“北京中轴线不仅是历史轴线，更是生活轴线。”中国历史研究院科技考古与文化遗产保护重点实验室高级工程师孙燕说。
2024年，北京中轴线成功列入《世界遗产名录》。作为上榜的“新科状元”，孙燕特别提到其创新的公众参与机制：一是于2023年授予30位热心市民成为北京中轴线的遗产监督员；二是开发“数字打更人”小程序，鼓励民众实时上报遗产区范围内发现的问题和建议等。孙燕说：“这两项举措有效促进了遗产保护的社会共治”。
丽江古城是中国首个申遗成功的古城。丽江古城文化遗产研究院负责人、世界文化遗产丽江古城风貌保护专家库专家成员和磊回忆，1996年丽江遭遇7级地震，申遗进程一度停滞。
“古城格局、民族文化精髓、纳西人民都还在，这就是我们的底气。”和磊说，最终丽江古城于1997年成功列入《世界遗产名录》。
